Cody George, Native Restoration and Management

Cody George

Ecological Horticulturist & NRM Manager

Cody leads the Native Restoration & Management team with over 20 years of expertise in horticulture and public garden management. A respected leader in the region, he has managed high-profile landscapes including Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and the Thaden School.

A graduate of the University of Arkansas with a degree in Horticulture & Landscape Management, Cody is also an accredited Organic Land Care Professional through the Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA) of Connecticut. His passion for native plants, sustainable landscape practices, and biodiverse habitat creation drives NRM’s mission to promote healthy ecosystems across Arkansas.

Taylor Enlow, Native Restoration and Management

Nursery Manager

A lifelong Arkansan, Taylor grew up in the ecologically rich landscapes of Northwest Arkansas and has called Fayetteville home for over a decade. She holds a Biology degree with minors in Wildlife Habitats and Sustainability, reflecting her deep commitment to environmental stewardship.

Before joining Native Restoration & Management, Taylor worked with a Fayetteville-based nonprofit focused on river and riparian restoration. Her passion for protecting natural resources and promoting native plants led her to NRM, where she now serves as Nursery Manager for the Arkansas Native Plant Nursery. Taylor thrives in a collaborative environment where knowledge is shared freely and every project contributes to restoring Arkansas’s biodiversity.

Brian Batchelor, Native Restoration and Management

Head Gardener

Brian brings over 20 years of experience in irrigation and ecological gardening to his role as Head Gardener at Native Restoration & Management. His journey to NRM began through a long-standing professional connection with Cody, forged during their years working together at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.

Throughout his career as an Irrigation Technician in locations across Arkansas, Brian honed expertise in water-efficient systems, sustainable lawn care practices, and precise equipment maintenance. His depth of hands-on knowledge, combined with a passion for organic land care, makes him an invaluable leader in creating and maintaining biodiverse landscapes for NRM clients. 

William Schmidt, Native Restoration and Management

William Schmidt

Ecological Gardener

With over 20 years of horticultural experience, William Schmidt brings a lifetime of passion for plants and the outdoors to Native Restoration & Management. His interest in the natural world began in childhood, sparking a career dedicated to nurturing plant life and crafting sustainable, biodiverse landscapes.

William’s deep appreciation for nature extends beyond his work. An avid fisherman and explorer, he finds peace in Arkansas’s lakes and rivers and seeks out hidden trails and untouched wilderness whenever he can. His adventurous spirit, combined with a wealth of practical expertise, makes him a valued resource for both clients and colleagues. At NRM, William is committed to ecological land care that benefits people, plants, and wildlife alike.

Joanna Gonzalez, Native Restoration and Management

Joanna Gonzalez

Ecological Gardener

Joanna Gonzalez brings a deep-rooted passion for native plants and sustainable landscapes to Native Restoration & Management. A University of Arkansas graduate with a degree in Horticulture, Joanna has spent over 25 years in Northwest Arkansas, developing an intimate knowledge of the region’s ecosystems. She is also an Arkansas Master Naturalist and an Accredited Organic Land Care Professional (AOLCP) through the Northeast Organic Farmers Association (NOFA).

Her work blends scientific expertise with a dedication to environmental stewardship, designing gardens and habitats that support biodiversity and thrive in harmony with local ecology. Outside of her professional role, Joanna is active in community service—organizing clean-ups, leading educational programs on native flora and fauna, and inspiring the next generation to care for the natural world.

Whether hiking the Ozarks with her family or tending her own garden, Joanna brings the same care and commitment to every project: creating healthy, resilient spaces where plants, wildlife, and people can flourish.

Mathieu Butler, Native Restoration and Management

Mat Butler

Ecological Gardener

Mathieu Butler is a born and raised Arkansan, having lived in Northwest Arkansas for 40+ years. Over the course of those 40+ years in NWA, he has worked in Landscaping and Property Maintenance in various capacities. His love for Arkansas and its natural beauty is what brought Mat to work at Native Restoration and Management. He was excited by the idea of getting to work with native plants and the increased opportunity to discuss native plants with those in his community.
